Saturday Halaqah

Aim of the Silicon Valley Islamic Center  in offering the Saturdays’  Halaqah are:-

  • To acquaint the children with the uniqueness of the Islamic concept of Allah and how it affects people’s relationship with Allah, with his/her fellow human beings and with the creation in which he lives.
  • To acquaint the children with the meanings of the final book of revelation, the Qur’an and their relevance to daily life.
  • To develop, in the children, a realization that Islam is built on firm, clear, logical principles and that is not merely a collection of irrelevant cultural practices handed down from earlier generations. This can be done through the study of the sciences of (Usool) of Hadith (Prophetic traditions). Fiqh and Tafseer.
  • To identify and build an Islamic character in the students through the study of Islamic Ethics which is no doubt, an essential component of any Islamic Education curriculum. This field of study is to be found in the Prophetic tradition (Hadith) which have been carefully chosen for in depth study and discussion at all levels.
